SEASONAL SELF-CARE BLOG
Posted on November 20th, 2020
There’s no way to get around it. We’re going to have a COVID WINTER. I’m sorry to have to say this but, my friends, we all can see that the difficulties of 2020 will bleed into 2021 and the challenges will continue and perhaps even increase. This can make you want to just pull up covers and hope it will all just go away. But eventually you’ll get hungry and find yourself standing in the kitchen munching on toast, wondering just how you’re going to manage. How are you going to make it through. Perhaps you feel that your reserves were tapped out by the election and post election chaos and your nerves are shot.
We are being presented with a challenge to draw deep from within ourselves and summon the courage, the strength, and skill that perhaps we haven’t yet experienced in our lives. We have the choice during this upcoming period of various levels of “lockdown” to either feel isolated, lonely, and separate, or invite this time as an opportunity to listen inwards and deepen our internal connection to ourselves and reconnect to our essential nature. This is the time for self care and self love. This is the time for long luscious “Ocean baths“, yummy immune boosting “Golden Milk”. The time to lean into your yoga and meditation practices to help clear and calm the mind. The time to get outside everyday and feel the nourishment of the Earth under your feet and the limitless opportunities in vastness of the sky above. This is time to fill your being with gratitude and be thankful for the simplest of things. This is the time to nourish your relationships with your loved ones. The time to be with yourself in ways you haven’t had the time to in your busy life. This is the time to reawaken your inner creative essence which will help you remember that you are whole, that your are connected, that you belong, that you are a part of the family of life.
We are in this together. We will awaken a new way through. This is what we are being asked to do.
