Thai massage is a wonderful practice to help yoga teachers expand their ease working with bodies and expand their adjustments skills.

Have fun learning Thai massage sequences that you can share with your partner, friends, and loved ones. This workshop is designed to open your body, balance your mind, and deepen your relationships. Explore non-verbal communication tools based on mutual support and open hearted listening. This practice awakens energy flow and leaves both the giver and receiver in a relaxed state of grace.

Simultaneously relaxing and energizing, Thai massage combines passive yoga stretches, with acupressure points, muscle compression, and joint mobilization. It is known as “the lazy man’s yoga”!

One of the most important skills for a yoga teacher is to be able to see what is happening in your students bodies and guide them into healthy balanced alignment. In this workshop, you will learn to see bodies as well as refine your adjustment skills. Working with a group of students in a laboratory like setting, you will stand side by side with Leigh and together look at the students to learn to see the areas of compromise or over exertion in their bodies and minds. Learn to penetrate with vision and then your hands. With the gentle guidance of Leigh, you will learn and practice the asana adjustments that will be most beneficial for the student to address their root problems and create new healthy alignment patterns.

Counts as 18 hrs towards your Yoga Sukhavati 300 HR Certification and 18 CEU credits.

AcroYoga blends the spiritual wisdom of yoga, the loving kindness of Thai massage, and the dynamic power of Acrobatics. These three ancient lineages form the foundation of a unique new practice that cultivates trust, connection and playfulness.  Partner flying is at the root of the AcroYoga practice and comes in the forms of Therapeutic flying and Acrobatic flying. Therapeutic flying incorporates elements of Thai Massage to open and lengthen the back and relax the arms and legs- it is most likely one of the best massages you will ever receive as a flyers spine typically lengthens at least an inch over the course of a five minute flying session. Acrobatic flying requires higher levels of strength and trust as more technical moves and transitions are performed allowing the flyer to invert into asanas such as shoulderstands, handstands and deep back bends with the support of the base.  Workshops for AcroYoga and acrobatics have a focus on handstand & inversion training as well as conditioning for strength and tightness in the body and often times end or focus on a Thai Massage sequence (similar to shavasana) to help the body relax and realign.

These AcroYoga & Thai Massage workshops as part of the Sukhavati Training will focus on teaching alignment & technique for inversions, partner work and Thai Massage to help students learn how to adjust other students in their classes in the future.

Counts as 10 hrs towards Yoga Sukhavati 300 HR Certification and 10 CEU credits.
