OPEN THE WINGS OF THE HEART
shoulder openers & backbends
Sat. June 3, 10-13

Awaken your heart and infuse your being with joy!

Many of us hold a lot of tension in the shoulders, neck, and chest. In conjunction with constant tightness and discomfort in these areas, there is a loss of a connection to the heart, the seat of consciousness, compassion and wisdom. Through our yoga and meditation practices, we can re-connect with our natural openness, warmth and tenderness of our awakened heart.

In this workshop learn how to:
-Release habitual holding patterns in the shoulders
-Discover the supportive muscles of the back body
-Open your lungs and heart to enjoy the full exhilaration of backbends!
– Awaken your voice to fully express sound from the heart

LOTUS LOVE
hip openers & arm balances
Sun June 4, 12:30-13:30

Rising from the unseen, murky lake bed, the lotus floats peacefully and majestically on top of the water. It’s beauty, nourished by the mud below, speaks eloquently of our journey. Padmasana, lotus pose, is often quite difficult for people, due to tightness and congestion in their hips. By exploring a series of yoga asanas designed to slowly and thoroughly open the hips, this stagnation and stuckness starts to dissolve, releasing blocked energy in the hips.  Our lotus begins to flower, floating to the surface of the lake in ease. With our new freedom in our hips, we can play with the lotus in yogic bliss, floating our lotus peacefully in arm balances and inversions, receiving the deep nourishment that these beautiful poses offer.
